Red Junglefowl Thailand

Red Junglefowl birds of Thailand

The Red Junglefowl(Gallus gallus) is a common bird of Thailand. Found on the edge of forests in open woodland, grass and scrub, the bird is nonetheless attractive and very colourful.

This photograph of a Red Junglefowl was taken in Kaeng Krachen National Park Thailand. The bird was surprisingly tolerant of my presence.

Equipment: Canon Eos 1000D 55-250mm

So much like the domesticated Thai cockerel I’m not sure I’d spot the difference in passing. As far as I know I’ve never seen one. I suspect any foolish enough to live round here were eaten long ago.

Lawrence, they look very similar, mostly you go by location.

I always arrive too late at your blog to comment!  ;) Just know that I visit here far more often than I comment!  I love the young frog in your last post, very striking ad a great shot.  This is another great shot too, really nice close up.

Emm, sorry about the comment closure, I do it to cut out spammers who go back to old posts and slip in links. I like the frog too, bit spooky though! The “chicken” is very colourful and made a good close up.
