Crab Eating Macaque Playing in Water
I have often photographed Crab Eating Macaques here in Thailand and I am well aware that they are excellent swimmers but I had never actually seen them in the water. However that has now changed because on my recent trip to Kaeng Krachan National Park I found a group of them on an island near the dam in the park.
Although in this shot you can only see Crab Eating Macaques playing in water I have several other photographs that feature the animals actually swimming.
The photograph is taken from a boat I had hired which didn’t make for a very stable shooting platform but I managed to snap this shot that made me think about a television jury waiting to vote on an act, with the on-shore monkeys ready to hold up their voting cards as their water-borne cousin performs.
Personally I gave the Crab Eating Macaque playing in the water 9.5
