Blue-Crested Lizard

Blue Crested Lizard or Indo-Chinese Forest Lizard

Blue Crested Lizard

I found this Blue Crested Lizard which is sometimes called the Indo-Chinese Forest Lizard on a tree near the visitor centre at Kaeng Krachan National Park in Thailand.

The Blue Crested Lizard( Calotes mystaceus) is an Agamid that is from a family called Agamidae which are often referred to as dragons or dragon lizards.

Looking at the photo I can certainly see why they might be called a dragon.  I believe this photograph shows a male Blue Crested Lizard which are more brightly coloured than females.

Equipment: Canon EOS 1000D 55mm
