Three Wise Monkeys

The wise monkeys in Thailand

Three Wise Monkeys

Although the original three wise monkeys come from a Japanese proverb and were depicted as “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” I thought these three Spectacled Langurs from Thailand made a pretty good alternative.

True they are not covering their heads with there hands like the originals but they do nonetheless have some interesting facial expressions.  To save your blushes I have airbrushed the centre, male monkey, a little,  since he was certainly not modest, perhaps he was trying to impress his female companions.

The monkeys along with several others are part of a large troop of Spectacled Langurs that live on the grounds of the Thai Air Force base at Ao Manao, Thailand where they are well fed and cared for.

Definitely three wise monkeys ;-)
