Five Lined Skink Thailand

A five lined skink in Thailand

Five Lined Skink

I found this Five Lined Skink in the shade near my back door the other day.  He didn’t seem to bothered when I stuck the camera near him either although he did move when I tried to get in front of him.

Now I don’t know much about Skinks but I can see how this one gets his name since you can clearly see the five blue lines running vertically along its body.

I have seen several different Skinks in my garden here in Thailand but this is the first photography I have managed of this species of Five Lined Skink with the distinctive blue stripes.

Equipment: Canon EOS 1000D 55mm

What a stunning photo!! You were so fortunate to get so close and he seems to be enjoying posing for you. I love those electric blue lines on his back.

Emm I was fairly pleased with the result. Where he was made it impossible to get a good full body shot, so we settled for head and shoulders.

Thanks Lawrence, I was fairly pleased, usually they don’t hang around if they sense you are there.
