Chakri Dynasty Thailand
Yesterday was the current King of Thailand’s birthday. HM is part of a royal line in Thailand referred to as the Chakri Dynasty. The dynasty has ruled Thailand since 1782 when Bangkok was founded as the capital of Siam after the death of King Taksin.
The first king of the Chakri Dynasty was King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke or Rama I who was a King of Ayutthaya. The current monarch King Bhumibol Adulyadej is Rama IX.
