Vinous Breasted Starling

Vinous Breasted Starling perching on coconut palm

A Vinous Breasted Starling(Sturnus burmannicus) perches on a coconut palm near my garden in Thailand. Although the bird is fairly common they seem to be seasonal visitors here in Prachuap Khiri Khan. Favouring the cool dry season which is just starting.

Equipment: Canon EOS 1000D 55mm Lens

Emm now I am blushing! The light was just right and the bird was in the sweet spot for focal range of my 55-250 lens. Also the bird is quite colourful ;-)

Great shot. It did get near to my house once in a while but still very rare in Malaysia.

Hi Terrence, this bird is common here BUT seems to appear at my home area only in the cool season(now), its good to get a closer shot which shows the lovely colours.
