Inlaid Art Work Thai Temple

Inlaid picture of the Buddha Thai temple wall

This beautiful example of Thai temple art was found inlaid into the wooden wall of the Bot at Wat Satthatham, near Samut Songkhram, Thailand. It looks like mother of pearl and given the temples proximity to the sea and fishing grounds this may well be possible. It could also be from the inside of mussel shells.

The wooden walls are probably made from teak or a similar hard wood. There are many different Buddhist scenes depicted on the walls but I particularly like this one, which is so Thai.

Equipment: Canon EOS 1000D 55mm Lens

Emm I actually had to touch it to realise it was inlaid, I thought it was painted at first.
