Snake Shrine

a Buddhist shrine featuring snakes

I found this snake shrine on a hill above the Buddhist temple Wat Tham Khao Mai Ruak. Now I know the Naga(often depicted as a Cobra) features in Buddhism but here we appear to have a Cobra and two unidentified snakes.

So I am a little unsure of the significance. Who knows maybe there are a lot of snakes in the area and the shrine is there to keep them happy.
