These ancient brick pagodas at Wat Phra Mahathat in Ayutthaya,Thailand appear to be doing a fair impression of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Is it an optical illusion or trick of the camera lens? Well no its not since the centre tower is indeed leaning, quite how this came about though I am not sure. Perhaps through erosion and subsidence?
Unfortunately like many such sites in the ancient capital of Thailand restoration is limited even though the artefacts in the photograph are part of the world heritage site.
