I found this juvenile Common Myna(Acridotheres tristis) in the coconut grove opposite my home in Thailand. It allowed me to get quite close although the parents were nearby and created quite a noise perhaps thinking I was going to harm the fledgling.
The Common Myna as the name suggests is very common here and many other parts of Asia, loud and gregarious they will often be seen squabbling over food in their large social groups.
If I sit outside on my veranda in the evening, just before sunset, the birds will often fly around the eaves of the house and car port trying to catch small gecko’s. They are quite agile in flight and can hover for a few seconds when trying to catch their prey. The Common Myna seems to eat most things ranging from human leftovers to fruit.
