A Thailand Railways diesel loco hauls the Eastern and Oriental express through Nong Hin station Thailand

The Eastern and Oriental Express is usually called the Orient Express, it is the Asian version of the famous European luxury train. Travelling between Bangkok and Singapore the train passes by my home here in Thailand on a regular basis as it heads south to the Malaysian border and Butterworth (for Penang Island).

This photograph is taken at Nong Hin station as the Eastern and Oriental Express thunders through hauled by a Thailand Railways diesel locomotive number 4120.

If you fancy travelling on the train take a look at the prices for travel on the Eastern and Oriental Express web site-then start saving so you can sit in the observation car and watch the world go by.
