Bats in Thailand Photo/image

a dead bat hanging from a barbed wire fence in Thailand

There are believed to be 112 different species of bats in Thailand. Of these, eighteen are fruit eating bats(frugivorous) while the remainder feed on insects(insectivorous).

I found this unidentified species of bat, which is fairly small and may be insectivorous, when I was out cycling the other day. Sadly it had collided with a barbed wire fence and become entangled. So the animal in the photograph is actually dead which is rather sad since a man made obstruction was to blame.
