Thai temple art showing ubosoth walkway naga and hong bird

Thai temple art is unique and very colourful. Often rich in red and gold colours, even modern temples have a way of being made to look quite old and of historical importance.

This shot of a walkway between two temple building leads you to the entrance to the ornately decorated ubosoth(ordination hall). Each side of the path there is a gold gilded Naga guarding the way while overhead the way is lit(at night) by lights that feature the mythical Hong bird.

The ubosoth at the end of the walkway is again guarded by Naga with an ornate arch and doorway leading to the inner sanctuary.

The photograph was taken at Wat Lang San Prasit, Samut Sakhon, Thailand.
