A lucky rooster cockerel outside the Phanthai Norasing shrine in Samut Sakhon Thailand

This huge pottery rooster(cockerel) is outside the Phanthai Norasing shrine near the town of Samut Sakhon, Thailand. There were literally hundreds of similar pot models around the site, although most are smaller than the example in the photograph, which was about 5′ tall.

The pottery roosters are donated by members of the public who leave them at the shrine believing they will bring good luck in business.

The subject of today’s photograph reminds me of the cockerel in the film Chicken Run, Fowler was his name if I remember correctly.
