Bangkok at Night Photo/Image

View from Chao Phraya River in Bangkok at night

On one of my trips to Bangkok I took an evening river cruise on the Chao Phraya River. The cruise included dinner and live entertainment, both of which were very good. However the main attraction for me was seeing the city at night and viewing it from the river.

Unfortunately this shot is by no means perfect since it is hand held on quite a slow shutter speed. However hopefully you can see the beauty of one of the main temple sites in the city, I think this is Wat Pho, but to be honest I was a little disorientated because the boat travels in two directions having negotiated a rather hair raising turn (among the busy river traffic) half way through the trip, so I may well be wrong.

Whatever, it certainly looks a lot different at night.

Fantastic! Those lights are just amazing!

And I don't blame you for getting disoriented at night, especially on a boat. It would probably happen to me too.

That is really a very beautiful scene. The shape of the buildings is something I could never see where I live.

Thank you Hilda, it looks even better from the boat!!

The temple (here in the UK it just might be an Indian curry house) looks amazing. The thing that catches my eye is the colours reflecting off the water. If you made a postcard out of it, I might just find myself stood in a Post Office queue. Great photo.

Beautiful photo mike. Being on the Chayo Phraya river at night is just amazing.

Ratty/Marty/Talen thanks for your comments. I do like this one myself although the image quality is not great.

PG agreed, this shot was taken with my Fuji camera which is a bridge camera and produces quite good hand held shots.

PG Agreed. I find the Fuji works well under these conditions.
