Thai Temple Art-Ubosoth Gates

Thai Temple Art gates

This is another photograph in my series on different aspects of Thai temple art. The gates in the photograph lead to the ubosoth(sacred building-ordination hall) at Wat Khlong Wan, near where I live in Thailand.

The art work appears to be gilded and painted and is quite intricate in its design. In the background you can see a picture of HM King of Thailand dressed in Royal regalia.
The holes in the wall on the right of the gate are reserved for the ashes of people who are cremated at the Wat. While on the left of the gate you can see such resting places already occupied.

Equipment: Canon EOS 1000D 55mm Lens
