After visiting the Terrace of the Buddha Images from the 3 Era’s at the Siam Cultural Park you can visit the Vessantara and Jataka sound and light show where this rather gruesome image was taken.
The sound and light show depicts one of the Lord Buddhas former lives where Vessantara(a Prince) gives away all his worldly possessions including his children to a greedy Brahmin, Jataka. The moral of the story is to do with the virtue of charity.
At the end of the story the Jataka, shown in the photograph explodes through eating too much (his greed). The Prince returns to the kingdom to become King and is reunited with his wife and children.
