Hall of Fame-Siam Cultural Park

Sueb Nakasatian famous Thai conservationist

The Hall of Fame at the Siam Cultural Park contains fibreglass models of famous Thai and International figures. The model in the photograph is a famous Thai naturalist and conversationalist, Sueb Nakasatian, who founded Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary. Later he was murdered because of his stand in protecting Tiger habitat.

The Siam Cultural Park is located in Ratchaburi Province off Highway 325 and besides the Hall of Fame it also includes a series of Buddha images from the three era’s and a sound and light show depicting the Vessantara, the last human reincarnation of the Lord Buddha. But more of those in another post.

Interestingly there is no mention of The Siam Cultural Park in my copy of The Rough Guide for Thailand which might well explain the lack of Western visitors to the site which is however very popular with Thai people particularly educational trips. A sign does however advertise entry for foreigners at 200 Baht.

I like this kind of Hall of Fame. Not just celebrities or athletes but people who have truly made a difference. It does sound like a very educational tour.

The model looks so real, far better than wax.

Hilda yes I agree, there were also a few more well known international figures as well.

Martin very life like, there is another of some monks that look so real that Thais often bow to them.
