Amphawan Floating Market Samut Songkhram Photo/Image

Amphawan Floating Market Samut Songkhram Thailand
Located near the Rama II Memorial Foundation park you will find Amphawan floating Market, Samut Songkhram. Floating markets and markets in general in Thailand are always colourful and a good place for photographs as well as shopping for a few bargains!

Unfortunately its actually quite difficult to get a shot of the floating market stalls as you will find few decent vantage points. This photograph is taken from a high point and doesn't really do justice to the scene.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed this photograph from Thailand. If you did why not get it delivered free by my RSS feed.

hi there, love visiting floating markets - they are always so colourful to photograph. recently came back from visiting Damnoen Saduak floating market. I hear that amphawan is more popular amongst the thais? r they tourists from other parts of thailand or do locals also do their marketing here?

I might have a hard time buying here — I'd always be afraid of tripping and falling into the water!

Lechua, seems to me its mostly Thai tourists, that said I guess the locals take a look too.

Mike Rose
I have lived in Thailand since I retired from teaching in the UK in January 2008. Home is a bungalow about 2km from the Gulf of Thailand and 8km south of the town of Prachuap Khiri Khan. I am one of the few foreigners that live in this area. I am a keen birder and photographer although I have a lot to learn about both subjects! I also enjoy blogging and visiting temples and other cultural and wildlife sites in the country. I am trying to learn the Thai language, but I think you could say that it remains a work in progress.
