Temple Roof Art Thailand

Art work on gable end of Thai temple

Thai temples(Wat) whether ancient or modern are always a good source of art work. This shot taken at one of the two temples in Prachuap Khiri Khan town demonstrates the point quite well.

Temple art can be found at all levels, including wall paintings and sculpture. The roof gable in this shot is in relief and beautifully painted.

Wat Thammikaram Worawihan(วัดธรรมิการาม วรวิหาร) is located at the north end of the town near Mirror Mountain.

Equipment: Canon EOS 1000D 55-250mm Lens

Hi Mike- This is really beautiful! The oriental cultures all do such a great job of turning the ordinary into exquisite works of art.

Ooooh, I like this one. I love the contrast of the blue sky against the intricate design of the temple.

Hi Guys thank you for your visit and comments. It was just right for the photograph against the blue sky. Although most temples here are quite modern the art work never fails to astound me.
