Sala Thai-Wat Huay Mongkol Thailand

Sala Thai Wat Huay Mongkol Thailand

The rather nice looking Sala Thai is at Wat Huay Mongkol near Hua Hin, Thailand. This is the Wat that is dedicated to the Buddhist teaching monk, Luang Phor Thuad.

The Sala Thai means pavilion or shelter and is Thailand’s architectural symbol . The Asian Elephant and the Ratchaphruek(ราชพฤกษ์) or Golden Shower Tree are the other National symbols of Thailand.

The sala is often just a plain open rest shelter like this one in a park in Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Equipment: Canon EOS 1000D 55mm Lens

    I visited a shopping mall and felt so itchy to hands on a Canon EOS 500D.

    Wah!! It was so great.

    Really is a nice architectural look for a simple shelter. Nice to see architectural designs in use that compliments the culture and environment. Happy New Year!

    @rainfields-yes I know the feeling!!

    @Rob agreed, but its not always the case here. I think this one although quite modern is just about right.
