Oriental magpie Robin perched on electricity line in Thailand

The Oriental Magpie Robin(Copsychus saularis) is a common bird of Thailand. Although I see them quite often they are usually in dense vegetation. The example in today’s photograph perched on the electricity cables outside my home.

Unfortunately it was 7am and the bird was back lit in poor light with the rising sun behind and to the right of it. Therefore the resulting image leaves a lot to be desired. I have tried to improve this with adding colour to the grey sky but its far from perfect. However I hope this doesn’t detract too much from this charming small bird that’s size is somewhere between a European Magpie and Robin.

Equipment: Canon EOS 1000D 55-250mm Lens
