Whilst trekking in Northern Thailand near Chiang Rai I stayed in an Akha village overnight. The villagers, including this Akha woman, got dressed up in their traditional dress and arranged a small craft market along with some dancing.
Although the Akha, who are a Hill Tribe, are nomadic many live in permanent villages in Thailand near the Myanmar border. You will often see them in the tourist areas of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai selling their handicrafts.
