Sun Dried Fish

Sun Dried Fish

Sun dried fish is a common sight in Thailand. Lots of different fish varieties including Mackerel and Squid are left in the sun to cure naturally. These dried fish form the basis of many Thai recipes including Pla Kem Taud.

In this photograph you can see mackerel on the main racks but in the right hand background there is also some squid drying. The racks are near the harbour in the small Thai fishing village of Khlong Wan.
