Real Cobra Snake and Scorpion Whiskey Image/Photo

Cobra snake and scorpion whiskey in Laos
How do you fancy some Cobra or scorpion whiskey? Well throughout Asia you will find different reptiles and even sea creatures fermenting away in your whiskey bottle. Quite why this is a common feature I am not 100% sure but I fancy it has to do with male potency!

Of course it also begs the question of whether the creatures are dead or alive when added to the alcohol. Whatever their state I am fairly sure its not good for conservation.

The bottles of whiskey in today's photograph contain baby cobras on the left and scorpions on the right. They were photographed on a small island in the Mekong River that is Laotian territory.

I have lived in Thailand since I retired from teaching in the UK in January 2008. Home is a bungalow about 2km from the Gulf of Thailand and 8km south of the town of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
