AU-23C Peacemaker RTAF

AU-23C Peacemaker in flight Thailand

The AU-23A Peacemaker in this photograph is operated by Wing 53 of the Royal Thai Air Force based at Ao Manao, Prachuap Kiri Khan, Thailand.

Although the Swiss built aircraft was originally designed for a ground attack role, the AU-23A Peacemaker is used for observation by Wing 53 RTAF. This includes forest and reef conservation work. The aircraft have also been used by the Royal Rain-makers(cloud seeding) who operate out of Hua Hin airport on the Gulf of Thailand.

The aircraft in the photograph also has another less conventional role. Yesterday, when I took this shot and whenever there is a visitor attraction at the nearby base the planes are used as an airborne loud speaker system flying low over our house and the surrounding villages broadcasting their message.

Equipment: Canon EOS 1000D 55-250mm Lens

You have got a very clear look of the plane. It must be flying low enough for that shot.

rainfield it was quite low, although I was using the 250mm lens and I have cropped the image. If you look on the full size image you can see the large speaker system.
