Buddhist Quiz

Buddhist Monks at Funeral
I wonder if you can figure out what these Buddhist monks are doing. Its part of a Buddhist ceremony. They are holding white string that the lead monk is paying out from a reel. Incidentally and by way of another clue the boys (there are five of them) accompanying the three full time monks, are only wearing the Buddhist robes for the ceremony.

About the Photographer

My Photo
Mike Rose
I have lived in Thailand since I retired from teaching in the UK in January 2008. Home is a bungalow about 2km from the Gulf of Thailand and 8km south of the town of Prachuap Khiri Khan. I am one of the few foreigners that live in this area. I am a keen birder and photographer although I have a lot to learn about both subjects! I also enjoy blogging and visiting temples and other cultural and wildlife sites in the country. I am trying to learn the Thai language, but I think you could say that it remains a work in progress.
