Pair Spotted Owlets Thailand

A pair of Spotted Owlets in a coconut palm

A pair of Spotted Owlets wait patiently in a coconut palm for dusk to fall. I often hear the birds calling at night as they hunt in the area behind my home. The Spotted Owlet is quite a small bird but as you can see has the distinctive large eyes of the owl family.

They're tiny! So cute too, they'd be swallowed up by the grey squirrels here!

wow, you're really lucky to see them, I know they live around our garden too but never have seen them yet, only the melody can hear in some nights and mornings (around 4.00-5.30 am)
