Behind the Buddha

This large golden Buddha Icon is at Khao Thongchai. Dedicated to HM the Queen of Thailand. The figure is about 40′ high and quite spectacular.

This shot is taken from some distance away and behind the public area, you can get some perspective on size of the statue if you look at the car in the right foreground.

    Thanks for that! There are so many great Buddha statues just randomly dotted around the country, it's funny how such an unpretentious religion goes in for mega-statutory in a way that Christianity doesn't at all…
