Thai Sign.

The Thais are very adept at making signs from anything, unfortunately they are often hung in strange places and not easy to see. This sign outside the fishing net factory near my home in Thailand is quite small and the only sign that advertises the business.

This is a very well taken image though I am not sure what it means :)

That must be the rule in Thailand. Make it as difficult as possible to find businesses.

I gave up looking for my vet and he now comes to me.

I assume it is the name of the company, but I don’t read Thai script.

The Thais always seem to know where places are, so I guess my next task is to start reading Thai!!

You really should, it open a whole new world. For me learning the Thai alphabet was much easier than the actual language (which I still can only do with a dictionary), but I still struggle with the special font used in these signs.

It says โรงอวนไต๋ตื้อ (rong uan tai tue) – literally translated “house fishing net trick very”, something like factory making magic fishing net. The second line is just the district name Nong Hin.

Andy thanks for that. Magic nets, but not much fun for the workers who are on about BT200 a day!
I have the niece of my Thai partner staying at the moment, she is five so I thought it a good time to start doing my Thai ABC with her!

    Childs play????
