Four Faced Buddha figure in a Thai Temple

I found this four faced Buddha icon in a temple about 60km north of my home in Thailand. It bears a striking resemblance to Hindu statues I have seen in India.

This is in fact ‘pra prom see nah’, otherwise known as Brahma. The most famous example in Thailand can be found at the Erawan shrine in Bangkok.
The Hindu/Brahmin deities still worshipped in Thailand after leftovers from the Khmer kingdom.

Ian-thank you and welcome. I clearly remember the figures in India so that sets my mind at rest.
Wish I had known about your company when I did TEFL back in 2007!

I am a fan of Thai Buddhism statues. This one strikes a very different feel comparing to the ones I have see.

The face appears more elongated and the right palm was on the chest wall on the facade
