This photograph was taken in the local temple at Nong Hin Thailand. The monk who was actually the Abbott of the temple had just given a birthday blessing to my Thai partner.
In the left foreground you can see a basket containing and offering she made to him. The offering consisted of freshly cooked food, flowers and water.
This is common practice with Buddhists and the monks share the food giving any that is left over to poor people and animals.
